The UK hasn’t had much in the way of great weather over the last couple of weeks and if you were hoping for a final fling and a weekend away over the August Bank Holiday, the last Bank Holiday of the year, then you may be looking out at the gloom. But it’s not all bad, the Met Office has just released it’s Bank Holiday weather on the Met Office blog and they’re promising mostly sunny weather over the weekend!
With Staycations on the rise, we’ve never been more dependant on the British weather, and with short breaks now a common way to holiday there’ll be plenty of people heading off to enjoy the final Bank Holiday weekend of the year. The Met Office start by saying that the weather is set to improve for the most part, and that’s great news for holidaymakers!
The weather has been very unsettled over recent weeks but we’re set to have more settled weather into the weekend spreading from the South West and across the UK. Saturday will be mixed, but mainly bright and the further South you are, the better chance you have of sunshine, while the North and East may have chilly winds and the odd outbreak of rain too.
However, Bank Holiday Monday looks to be dry, bright, warm and Sunny across most of England and Wales. The odd shower is to be expected but the forecast is mainly good and is set to remain so all week, great news for holidaymakers enjoying the final week of the school Summer Holidays.
It’s a much needed improvement but it’s also likely to mean more traffic on the roads as people enjoy summer’s final fling. We’d suggest getting off early if you’re away for the weekend to make the most of your break!
