British Holidays Are Best For Single Parents

Blog No Comments

Anyone who has found themselves alone bringing up children will be aware of the difficulties in booking holidays and paying for only one adult. Foreign tour operators often offer free deals for children, but this is only if two paying adults are booking alongside them, should you be booking as a single adult, not only will you likely have to pay for your child, but you may even have to pay an adult holiday price!

Holiday companies have been discriminating against single parents for years, and even if you’re lucky enough to find a deal for one adult and one child, and you’re lucky enough to get a child price for your child, you may still have to pay a supplement, and this supplement will almost always be where the holiday company will recoup the cash you save on the child fare. Many long haul deals aren’t even available for one adult as holiday companies assume that single parents can’t afford long haul holidays, and all these restrictions can make it very difficult for single parents to get a break away with children.

It’s little wonder then that British holidays are massively popular with single parent families. Booking a lodge, cottage or holiday caravan is a one price deal, and while that means it won’t cost less to go away as a single parent, it does ensure at least that you won’t be penalised for bringing children up alone!

While British package holidays aren’t cheaper for single parent families, you won’t have to pay any subsidies for travelling as a sole adult! Holiday caravans may be set up for traditional families, but travelling in a smaller, or even bigger party won’t cost you more or less. In fact with many holiday caravans and chalets sleeping six or eight for the same price, it could even be worth teaming up with another single parent friend and sharing, thus getting your holiday even cheaper again!
