Camping Makes Top Memories

Most of us have fond memories of family holidays as children, but if you really want to make those magic moments stick with your own family maybe you should consider doing away with that foreign sunny break this year and take a camping holiday. A recent survey of 2,000 Britons has revealed that their top holiday memory was from a camping trip in the UK.

The survey by instant barbecue company Bar-Be-Quick revealed that for more than a third of us our top memory was a camping trip in the UK. It turns out that muddy puddles, caves, mountains, castles and rock pools are far more memorable to children than white sandy beaches and camels; who knew?

It was 34% of Britons who declared that their top holiday memory was a camping trip, while more than 7 out of 10 of those questioned stated that a UK holiday was more relaxing and carefree, a fact backed up by another figure released by the survey. The most common negative holiday memory came out as remembering parents being frantic and stressed at airports.

British Holidays offer a lot for families, and there’s no denying that children prefer the simple things in life. It’s easy to run away with the idea that they need a fancy holiday, but more often this is for us, as all the children need is stress free parents and plenty to explore. Even if camping doesn’t appeal, there’s no denying it’s hard work, then there are hundreds of holiday parks around the UK offering many different accommodation options allowing you to choose from many luxurious options for a UK holiday.

While the children may want rocky beaches and starfish, with so many different park accommodation available today it’s easy to book yourself a lodge with a hot tub for the perfect compromise for all the family! There are so many fantastic treasures on our own doorstep and it’s easy to forget that the best memories are made at home!
