The whole point of getting away is to have a break from life’s routine. For some people this literally means lying down on a sun lounger for two weeks their only movement being the flick of a wrist to call a waiter, or the gradual turning of the sun lounger to follow the sun.
For others though, it’s an opportunity to invigorate themselves with a bit of outdoor activity, which has the added bonus of increased fitness as well as the sheer joy of experiencing the beauty of outdoor life. But, you don’t have to climb mountains to get the best of what nature has to offer.
Bicycling your way through the countryside has got to be one of the best ways to explore nature. And, the Isle of Wight has got some great cycling routes that can be explored from Park Resorts’ four holiday parks. A total of 500 miles of cycling routes are available, much of them off road.
Perhaps one reason that this gem of an island is completely overrun may be down to some people seeing the arrangement of a ferry as one more hassle they don’t want to deal with. But Park Resorts will book the ferry for you, and it’s free on selected dates.
All of their parks are located on the coast, so if you think that you’ve earned a break from cycling whichever park you stay at will be a short hop from the beach. Their parks come with a range of facilities, but in an area of such outstanding natural beauty, with 17 Blue Flag and Seaside Awards in 2014, you may want to get off site, and make the most of the island. Park Resorts do have a selection of caravans and lodges available, but if you really want to make it a proper outdoor getaway camping is also available. A great way to spend a holiday in a lovely party of the UK.
