Haven Holidays

Dorset has some of the best weather in the UK, and a lot of the area is designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Need we go on? We will.

Anyone who has visited the county will know that it really is special. Because of the clement climate much of the flora is not native to the UK, and you could easily be forgiven for thinking that you had taken a wrong turn and ended up in the south of France.

The secret appeal of the area is down to its quaintness. It’s been a tourist destination since the 1800s, and the local authorities seem to have done their best to conserve its low key appeal.

Luckily though, there are several caravan holiday parks in the region of which Haven Holidays operate four. All four are on the coast, and so are ideally located for a ramble through the area which contains many secluded coves and beaches.

Rockley Park is located near Poole, so if you fancy a bit of town life you can take a nice long wander through Hamworthy for a bit of retail therapy. Onsite there are loads of facilities for adults and kids, including kid’s clubs to give you some well deserved ‘me time’. And the beach is literally a short stroll away. More info.

Seaview does exactly ‘what it says on the tin’. It’s hilly location affords stunning rural views. And as the weather has been so good over the past couple of years Haven have have set up Safari tents onsite for hire to get in on the ‘glamping’ trend. There are plenty of onsite facilities, but if you fancy a change, the park’s sister site in Weymouth Bay is a mere walk away, and you can enjoy their facilities as well if you are a Haven guest.

Weymouth Bay Holiday Park is located just around the corner from Weymouth, so you can easily pop into town for a bit of shopping, or even pop aboard a boat for St Helier. Again, as a guest you can also enjoy the facilities of Haven owned Seaview which is a stroll away. If you simply can’t be bothered to wander down to the lovely nearby beaches the site has heated indoors and outdoor pools. More info.

Littlesea is in a secluded setting overlooking a lagoon. It is ideally located for exploring beautiful unspoilt coastline, but the park also has the full range of facilities and activities to keep all the family happy in the unlikely event that it’s raining. More info.

B&Bs are great, but if you want the whole family to enjoy the wonders of the region, nothing beats a holiday park. And don’t forget that Haven’s early booking special offers of between 25% and 50% off cease at the end of January, so don’t delay if you want to grab a holiday bargain!
