A few years ago a phrase appeared in the media ‘glamping’ and no one really knew what it meant, it’s a portmanteau of glamorous and camping, and it’s suited to those who love the fun of camping but hate all the work! If you want to sleep under the stars but you don’t know your fly sheet from your portaloo and wouldn’t really want to either then Glamping is probably the solution, and it would seem you’re not alone.
The term ‘Glamping’ has gone from one of the least known to one of the most searched in the Internet, particularly as the summer starts and holiday companies are reporting an increase on the number on enquiries, not for caravans but for Yurts and Safari Tents!
When you arrive on your Glamping holiday you won’t need to sort out the tent poles because it’s all up for you, so you get all the fun of camping without the work (and with electric sockets and cooking facilities too).
If you are looking to book a Glamping holiday this summer you’ll need to be quick as spaces are filling up fast at many parks! With Haven for example, they offer a range of Glamping tents at some parks and limited tents at others and at Perran Sands Holiday Park where they offer Safari Tents, Yurts, Supertents and Geodomes many key dates in July are already booked up! There are some dates available, and they also offer safari tents at various other parks including Burnham-on-Sea and Kiln Park so there are still options available for those who want to try a little glamorous camping this summer.
If interest in this form of camping increases it’s likely that more parks will install these luxury tents and that’s fantastic news as it really is a great way to camp, offering the best of both worlds!
