Getting Back To Nature With A Spring Break

We all have our favourite seasons, but the beginning of life that comes with springtime really is something to behold. Snowdrops and spring flowers, frolicking lambs and the first scent of summer. The season simply holds so much promise, and if your spring isn’t complete unless you’ve seen a carpet of bluebells, then there are some great caravan parks around the UK that make it easy to access the great outdoors.

All over the UK there are little hidden gems that can make a trip a few miles away seem like a million miles away, and with some spring sunshine promised over Easter, it’s a great time to get away.

In preparation for spring we’ve been checking out areas around the UK that are famed for spring beauty and hopefully some of them will offer some inspiration to you!

Cumbria – The whole of Cumbria is beautiful but if you head towards Wordsworth House in Cockermouth, birthplace of William Wordsworth you’ll find much more than a little culture. With fells and fields you’ll find plenty of signs of spring and maybe even the odd Hawfinch too, as the area is famed for them at this time of year.

Yorkshire – If you’re looking for the weather, it’s probably less likely to be found up north, but head to the valleys of Hardcastle Crags and you’ll find skylarks, or hear their warbling at least. Tumbling streams and carpets of bluebells are a favourite here, and you might want to take your binoculars if you really want to do some serious birdwatching.

Devon – If you take a spring holiday anywhere in Devon you are unlikely to be disappointed but if you’re looking for spring beauty there are a few places worth visiting. The South West Coast Path is a sight to behold with plenty of woodland and spring woodland flowers, not to mention beautiful views along the coast and even across to Wales. Look out for grey wagtails, first appearing at this time of year and don’t be surprised if you’re bowled over by the succulent scent of wild garlic.
