When we think of celeb summer getaways we usually think of tropical haunts and white sandy beaches but we’ve just heard the news that Wayne and Colleen Rooney have bought a caravan in Prestatyn! Could this be the start of a new celebrity trend?
The Metro reported yesterday that the famous footballer and his family have bought a luxury static caravan in the Haven Holidays resort in Prestatyn, and while we always extol the bargain prices of caravan holidays, buying one outright will set you back around £25,000.
Thanks to Colleen’s Twitter feed we’ve seen the family in Paris, Dubai, Brazil, and all sorts of wonderful places, but maybe the trip to Butlins for the family last year was the clue of their plans. Last weekend celeb spotters would have seen the couple at the Welsh resort as they made their first visit along with their children.
For a while now we’ve been talking about the trend for staycations, and how many holidaymakers are choosing UK breaks over foreign holidays and now the Rooneys are also doing their bit for the UK holiday industry too! How often the family will use their caravans, and how many foreign breaks they will still slip in is unknown, but they’ll be one of hundreds of families who bridge foreign holidays with fun relaxing breaks in the UK!
Like us, and you, the Rooneys love their holidays, that’s clear from how many they take every year and now they have a brand new destination to pop along to whenever they like! Owning your own static caravan can be like a home from home experience, and even if you don’t quite have £25,000 to shell out you will find many second hand caravans for sales around many parks, if the permanence of a holiday home is something you fancy.
