What is the biggest draw when it comes to choice of holiday location? The climate has to be up there near the top of the list, but, when it’s sunny all across the UK what comes next? For many, it’s a sandy beach, not a pebbly one, most definitely a sandy beach!
No matter how good the facilities are at a holiday park, for many the beach is what really matters, and if you’re one of those, then you could do worse than a holiday in Lincolnshire. There’s more to the county than Skegness, as there are mile and miles of sandy beaches along its coastline.
Cleethorpes Beach has 4 miles of sand and as it is a traditional seaside resort it comes with all the accoutrements, including the good old fashioned donkey ride. Skegness Beach is has won awards, and when the tide is out there’s plenty of room for it’s many holidaymakers. Of course, being ‘Skeggy’ there’s carnival rides and candy floss on offer. There are several holiday parks in the area run by Haven Holidays, Park Resorts, and Hoseasons. Mablethorpe has Golden Sands Holiday Park run by Park resorts, and as the name suggests, it has direct access to two miles of golden sandy beach. The park itself has plenty of facilities which is always a bonus, and the beach has huts and deck chairs for hire for that authentic Victorian seaside holiday experience (don’t forget the stripey swimwear). For those who want the penny and the bun they can stay inland at a peaceful inland holiday park that is 20 miles from the beach. Wake up to the birds tweeting, grab a bite, head to the beach, then return to the tranquility of the countryside.
