While the staycation might be right on trend and budget breaks are still of the moment, there are many who still won’t be going on a summer holiday this year. For around one and a half million families in Britain, the cost of a day out, let alone a holiday is simply too much, even a bargain break and it means many families are growing up without the memory making beach days and caravan holidays that make up our own happy childhood’s as adults.
Happy holidays wash away the stresses of every day life and it’s part of the appeal of staycations, cheaper breaks mean the ability to take more holidays a year, and have more memory making, relaxing experiences.
Even if you can’t manage a holiday, days out are an integral part of summer holidays and the chance to feel the sand between your toes is the chance to relax and unwind. However, for 1.46 million families, that’s an estimated 5 million people, a day out is out of the question due to finances, and family holidays are just a dream.
While budget breaks can be fairly cheap, for less well off families the train fares can be a killer, pushing the price of a holiday up simply too high! Cuts from the government aren’t helping the situation and it could be that this figure increases further, showing a growing disparity in the country at a time when many are enjoying more holidays than ever!
Research shows that family holidays are a real stress relief and make a real difference to our lives. A few days out can leave us feeling rejuvenated and fresh and for children it’s holidays where memories are made!
