The start of the British summer 2015 was hopeful with long sunny spells and some above average weather but it seems as in previous years the moment the kids break up from school the weather turns a little more inclement and while there are some fairly decent spells of sunny weather forecast, it’ll be coming with occasional showers and stormy spells.
If you’re going away right now, or before the start of August at least then chances are you’ll get July average temperatures and long warm sunny spells, but watch out for the occasional thunderstorm, particularly if you’re heading to the North of the UK.
When we flip onto August on the calendar things are taking a slight downturn and weather forecasters are using terms such as ‘early Autumn’ and ‘Autumn feel’. Temperatures are likely to be below the seasonal average and while there will still be warm sunny spells, the rain is set to increase and no promises are being made. What the Met Office is predicting on its long range forecast is another North/South divide with warm beautiful weather in the South and squally Autumnal offerings the further North you go.
There is more summer, we are at least promised that but it’ll be intermittent and as is often the case for UK holidaymakers, it’s going to be a case of hoping to get lucky with the weather for a few days and ensuring you go prepared and taking raincoats!
Thankfully the British holiday industry does cater for all weathers and many of the holiday parks listed on site offer both indoor and outdoor entertainment. While it’s great to go to the beach when the sun is shining, many holiday parks have indoor pools, sports and plenty more to keep you and the kids entertained if the weather doesn’t give all that it promises.
