About Crook O’Lune Holiday Park
Crook O’Lune Holiday Park is a peaceful getaway located near to the tranquil River Lune, and is surrounded by beautiful countryside. On the grounds of a manor house, the park has lodge and caravan accommodation on offer, and is a real escape from the bustle of city life. This is a holiday destination for outdoor types or those who happily forgo the latest technology in exchange for a good book and the sounds of the birds.
The main attraction of the holiday park is its location. It is surrounded by stunning countryside and sleepy hamlets, and is a gateway to the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales. This is a holiday of exploration, and although there are many nearby places to visit by car, walking and cycling are probably the best ways to really ‘let go’ and enjoy the countryside.
There are no facilities at the park except a launderette, however, facilities are available at a nearby sister park South Lakeland Leisure Village. These include a leisure complex (small charge) which has facilities for both working up a sweat and letting it out in a steam room. There is also a bar and restaurant if you fancy a break from self-catering, plus for anglers there are plenty of local lakes to choose from.
If you do hanker for a bit of tourism Lancaster is a short drive away as is Kirkby Lonsdale, all easily accessible by nearby motorway as is the park (you are unlikely to get lost on the way). If you fancy a bit of coast, Morecombe is nearby for a bit of traditional seaside fun which is great if you’ve got children with you.
This is a holiday choice for people who love caravan holidays but are happy making their own entertainment and is a good way for the family to bond in the great outdoors, but with the comfort of a caravan or a lodge if fancy a bit more comfort.
