Five Things To Do In Devon – Easter 2014

Haven Holidays

If you’re planning your Easter break to Devon, and one of the many caravan parks in the area, then you may be looking for some things to do during your holiday. As it’s Easter there are lots of events and interesting days out all over the county, that’s always the great thing about going away during a national holiday, and as Easter is the first major one of the spring, you may even get some sunshine too – although that is never guaranteed!

Devon isn’t the biggest county, although it is a popular holiday destination as staycationers flock to the coast this Easter. So we’ve compiled a list of days out in the area that may well be worth a visit during your stay.

Easter Holiday Hunt – Sidmouth

Easter wouldn’t be complete without an Easter Egg hunt and that’s exactly what’s on offer at the Donkey Sanctuary in Sidmouth. Running until Easter Day you can head along with the family, pay the £1 hunt fee and join the Easter Egg Hunt to find the 10 wooden eggs. Contact – The Donkey Sanctuary

St George’s Day Festival – Plymouth

It may be Easter too but Plymouth is holding it’s St George’s Day festival on Saturday 19th April, and not only is it promising to be fun, with music and entertainment all day, but it’s actually free too! Details – St George’s Day Parade

Photography competition – Dartmoor

If you head to the Miniature Pony Centre in Dartmouth during your stay, you’ll get a whole different kind of event right now. The centre is running it’s annual photography competition where you can enter your photos taken around the park for your chance to win free entry for four to revisit. Details – Miniature Pony Centre

Ploughman’s Lunch Cruise – Exmouth

Departing at 11:30am on Sunday 20th April is the Ploughman’s Lunch Cruise, and it may appeal to those looking for a more sedate holiday. The treats onboard include a Ploughman’s Lunch including a buffet of local produce, with full facilities and a licensed bar on board. Wherever you end up, we hope you have a wonderful Easter break, and with a bit of luck a little spring sunshine too!
