It was a fairly late Easter this year and it may be that if you have children of school age, they might only just be heading back to the classroom. If you didn’t get the chance of an Easter break, you may be looking forward to the Whitsun break, with Easter so late, Whit Sunday is 8th June this year and that means we’re into the summer months! A late Whitsun and the promise of some late May sunshine from the Met Office means it’s the perfect time for a UK break!
It’s a really short term for those in school so there’s not too long to wait if you’re looking for a getaway and many of the travel operators have some great caravan holiday deals for the early summer. Late spring is often interspersed with unsettled weather, and we may see a few showers going into June, but the Met Office say that those sunny spells will feel especially warm.
So if you’ve just been waiting for a positive forecast to think of booking your late spring break, then we have it now! Of course weather patterns are always changing but with the Met Office stating that the end of the month will see “periods of fine and dry weather, interspersed with occasional more unsettled spells with rain or showers. By day temperatures are most likely to be near or just above average, which at this time of year would leave conditions feeling pleasant in sunshine when winds are light.”, it’s all looking good!
The sunshine is often all you need for a good UK holiday, although often you have to make the best of what you have. Thankfully many resorts offer full indoor and outdoor facilities and this can be a great fallback on those rainy days. However, make the most of it all you want, and there’s only so many rainy days with a big family anyone can take, and that’s why this upcoming nice weather is sure to be good news for holidaymakers.
The summer is coming, and looking even further ahead, the Met Office say we might be in for a good one. Here’s hoping!
