Like many other holiday park operators Park Resorts are upping their game when it comes to moving with the times and catching up with web technology. Their website has a series of filters that allow holiday makers to select the holiday park that is right for them, as they can search for parks that are near a beach, are relaxing, and many other criteria.
They are however the first park operator to launch an App, and theirs will help people find a caravan, lodge, or chalet to buy. We’re expecting other operators to follow suit, as this may put them ahead in the market of ‘dentist waiting room shoppers’.
The App like their website allows users to select a park in a region that suits them, and also offer other search criteria like the website, such as price range. It also has a guide on caravan ownership, which explains what prospective buyers need to know about owning their own holiday home.
There is a finance calculator which is useful, as they do offer finance options on their accommodations which range up to £100,000 in price. In all, the App offers everything their website does for prospective buyers on the move.
So why launch an App, when smartphones users can simply access their website? Users can access their website, but like other operators’ sites, it was not designed for mobiles, so the resulting experience is not great, and can be a bit frustrating. In fact after 10 minutes fiddling on the website with your mobile you may be tempted to give up, and wait until you get home, by which time you may start looking at other sources of caravan sales which is obviously what Park resorts do not want.
It will be interesting to see if the advance will have a positive impact on their caravan sales. Park Resorts have noted that like much of the web a third of their site visitors come from mobile devices and tablets, although they may have noticed a lack in sales via smartphones, hence the launch of the App.
If you are interested in the App it is free for download from the App Store in the Travel and Lifestyle category, and on Google Play for Android. Good luck with finding that caravan. Original article.
