The bad news is that a fire at Southview Leisure Park yesterday afternoon has caused extensive damage to the leisure complex. The good news is that despite the building being occupied during the outbreak no-one was hurt.
Several buildings which are part of the Park Resorts owned resort have been almost gutted, including the snooker area, swimming pool, bar and restaurant. Apparently the fire broke out very swiftly, and by the time the fire brigade arrived extensive damage had already been done.
Staff at the park were however quick to respond in evacuating guests from all the effected areas, meaning that no-one got hurt. In all seven fire crews were called to the incident, and six jets were in use to bring the fire under control.
Obviously with the amount of damage caused a lot of late summer holidaymakers are having their holidays seriously effected. If you already have made an advanced booking for a stay at Southview Leisure Park you should ring Park Resorts to find out how your booking is effected.
