We didn’t see much summer during the summer months but since mid-September the weather has been glorious, backing up claims late summer that we were in for an Indian Summer. It’s infuriating when we have a lovely September, just after the kids have gone back to school but this year the nice weather has continued so long that bookings are up for October half term.

Across the country schools break up for half term in the latter half of this month and with so much glorious day time weather it’s little wonder people are taking advantage of cheaper out of season breaks.

Park Holidays are offering three night breaks at several coastal resorts from just £99 per family this half term making it a perfect final break of the year, without spending a pretty penny either. If you’re looking for a full week away, why not look at some of the rustic lodges available with Hoseasons, from around £200 for the full week half term break.

The nights might be closing in and there’s no denying there’s an evening chill in the air but Britain is so beautiful in it’s autumn colours and if you do have children then October half term really is your last chance to get away for the year.

With prices per family, many parks all over the UK and many dog friendly facilities you could turn your October half term into a real budget break but with parks filling up fast, options are becoming limited so you’ll need to be quick!

Who knows how much more sunshine we’ll have this year, it’s certainly been a long and balmy summer and that could continue through to the end of the month and the half term break according to forecasters.
