Broadchurch Effect Makes Dorset Hot For Holiday Bookings

David Tennant makes me hot for something, but I’m not sure it’s holidays! However, its is Broadchurch alter-ego and the show itself that is making West Dorset a hot destination for holiday bookings this summer!

The series has been hugely popular, and its filmed at one of our own local treasures, West Bay in West Dorset and thanks to the success of the series, and the sweeping scenic panoramas shown in the show, West Bay Holiday Park and many others in the area are reporting a huge increase in bookings!

Now whether this is people who have been drawn in by the beautiful scenery in the show, or whether people just want to incorporate a tour of locations is unknown but whatever the case, it’s great news for holiday parks in the area!

Broadchurch fever is reported to be responsible for up a 60% increase on bookings to some parks in the area, with hotels also getting in on the trend, reporting a huge increase on searches for hotels in Bridport and an increase in bookings too.

Dorset is a beautiful county and it makes a great holiday destination whether it’s been used in a television show or not, but if you’ve chosen West Bay in the past because it’s one of the quieter Dorset beaches, you may find that isn’t the case this year.

Broadchurch is now on its second series and that could mean even more popularity for the area, although series two hasn’t been as well received as series one was, the show has a hardcore base of fans now. The question is will those fans fall in love with Dorset as much as they fall in love with the show?
