The Great Easter Getaway Begins

Blog No Comments

Up and down the country many schools broke up at the weekend, and those who didn’t do so in the next few days. With more and more people choosing UK breaks, this does come with a downside when everyone wants to getaway together, and last Friday and Saturday were reported to be busy days on the road by the BBC Travelwatch.

Today is Tuesday and with still a few days to go until Easter, those with a bit of flexibility in their stay may have chosen to get away on a week day, and the roads were certainly a bit quieter yesterday if you decided to avoid the weekend rush.

With many planning a week away next week, it’s expected that this weekend will be another busy one on the roads, so make sure you plan your journey well!

In recent times, games of iSpy in the car have been replaced by games on the iPad, and having an in car charger can really make the difference between a peaceful traffic jam and one where you want to cut the engine walk away and leave everyone to it! Snacks are great too, and plenty of drinks, though maybe nothing that could induce car sickness as that really is the last thing you need with a car full starting your holiday.

Getting into the holiday mode before you set out is always a great way to do things, particularly if you’re laden down. Just by planning your journey and finding a feature stop off along the way you can resolve the issues that often arise with long car journeys.

What we can’t solve is the problem of the weather, and for this week at least it doesn’t look great! Thankfully these days many resorts have plenty to do, even in the rain, but a bit of sunshine would be nice this Easter.

If you haven’t booked your break yet and you really want a getaway, there are a few last minute deals still available!
