Changeable often seems to be the buzzword for British Holiday weather and the May Bank Holiday weekend will not disappoint as the Met Office says that it’s like to be sunshine and showers for the entire Bank Holiday weekend! If you’re planning a weekend away you might want to take a mac, as standard spring weather is likely to prevail.
Friday looks to be the best day of the weekend as the Met Office promises widespread sunshine across the day. However, if you’re heading south for your Bank Holiday break you may notice a few showers as the day goes on.
For the weekend itself, the north of the country looks like it’s going to get the best weather, while the south and east is in for unsettled rain and showers. Sunday is likely to see rain everywhere and if it hasn’t reached you by then, you’re likely to receive a few showers on Monday when widespread unsettled weather is forecast.
Of course British holidaymakers are well used to a few showers, and thankfully although unsettled the weather is not set to be a total washout although winds may keep things feeling a little cooler. Overall it’s what one would expect from a typical May Bank Holiday and it’s unlikely to be unsettled enough to spoil anyone’s fun!
There are still a few last minute deals left if you’re looking to get away for the weekend, and if not then there is a double Bank Holiday this month so you have another chance to book a short break towards the end of the month with the second Bank Holiday!
