It’s a beautiful day out there today and looks like summer is in full swing but as usual the British weather is not to be relied on in the first throes of summer as the Met Office says the rest of June may be changeable. We’ve enjoyed some sunshine already this summer but the rest of June is set to be a lot more unsettled and you may want to pack a rain jacket if you’re planning a holiday.
What we want now is long spells of sunny weather to start the holiday season in style, but what you get may depend on just where in the UK you’re heading to. The Met Office has confirmed that the temperatures are definitely rising, but they are bringing with them some rain and thunderstorms too!
Thankfully most of us who holiday in the UK don’t have too many problems preparing for all eventualities and most resorts offer indoor and outdoor activities.
It’s not all bad news, though the temperatures for the rest of June and into the first week of July are likely to be lower than average, and we are likely to get prolonged periods of rain, and thunderstorms. Of course the weather doesn’t always get it right and we hope that wherever you’re holidaying you’re getting a little sunshine!
While the long term forecast isn’t looking great through June and into the first week of July, there is some hope for mid-July when the schools break up and the children start their long summer holiday. We can only hope by then the weather will be a little more settled and we’ll have some real summer to look forward to!
