Corrie Goes Camping

Blog, For Fun No Comments

You know when something is increasing in popularity when you start seeing it appearing in soap operas and other topical media. We’ve been saying for a while now about how camping and caravanning is really on trend, we’ve even seen a couple of celebrities joining the cause and enjoying the great British holiday and now Coronation Street is getting in on the action, filming some camping scenes for the summer!

The scenes were filmed last week and will go out in the next few weeks and with the scorching temperatures this week Corrie producers couldn’t have picked a better week to film.

Paddy McGuinness features in the episode as a ‘wilderness survival expert’ and will meet the Tinkers and Dobbs who are off for a family holiday, expect humorous quips, and the funny storylines that Corrie do so well.

While the sun made for what seems like perfect filming it did causes some challenges on set with producers struggling to keep the cast cool between scenes.

Producers were in need of a secluded campsite for the filming, a rarity at this time of year so instead set up in woodlands near Northwich in Cheshire. The scenes will go out in a few weeks and are guaranteed to give a giggle to anyone who loves the camping life.

It seems camping and caravanning have barely been out of the news lately, showing it’s incredibly en vogue again! British holidays haven’t been so popular since their heyday in the 1950s, but the caravan holiday is definitely bang on trend right now and it seems even the rich and famous are getting in on the action.
