Fantastic Holiday Parks In Wales

What springs to mind when you think about Wales? Rugby? Leeks? Women in shawls and stovepipe hats? How about stunning verdant scenery, and a fantastic coastline that is difficult to beat. And that’s no to mention the ‘welcome in the hillsides’.

I recently took a ‘sabbatical’ and found myself market researching the thoughts of visitors to Wales. As a resident of the fine nation for more years than I care to mention I was heartened by the overwhelmingly positive responses from holiday makers who had popped over from England for a Welsh holiday.

In short, everyone I spoke to loved their holiday in Wales. They found the people welcoming, and the countryside and coastline unbeatable. They also scored their holidays as good value, not just in terms of accommodation, but also eating out and charges for visitor attractions.

So, where do you stay on a holiday in Wales? There are many holiday parks in the region, but we thought we’d focus on two who score consistently well on Trip Advisor. The two parks are Hafan y Mor, and Quay West.

Hafan Y Mor is located in Pwllheli, Gwynedd, on the coastline, but just around the corner from the Snowdonia national Park. There’s a pool, complex and a full program of entertainment and activities for all the family.

There are plenty of local attractions including the train up to the top of Snowdonia (seasonal), and Anglesey Sea Zoo (among others). A well serviced park in a great location that scores highly on TripAdvisor. More info.

Operated by Haven Holidays, Quay West is situated right on the beach in New Quay (Wales, yes, there’s two of Newquays), Ceredigion. The park has a heated indoor pool and outdoor pool, a show bar and more. As it’s one of Haven’s more active parks there are coaching sessions for football, archery and fencing, plus a sports court.

Although set in a stunning location, if you can tear yourself away from Quay West there is plenty to see and do nearby including a marvelous coastline to explore. Quay West also scores highly on TripAdvisor. More info.

These are just two of many parks, you can see the full list here. Enjoy your holidays!
